“And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be Savior of the world.” 1 John 4:14
I am often guilty of asking God for my “wants and needs” and of failing to thank Him for my many blessings. I “thank God for all of you” that have supported the Julie’s House ministry throughout the years. Thank you for giving so that we have been able to serve the helpless since 2005. May God bless “all of you!”
Making Ends Meet Bargain Center was one of the charities selected by GRU for their “Day of Service”. September 6th twenty members of their faculty, staff, and student body assisted at our thrift store. They not only made our store look wonderful but many of them became our customers. Mike Armstrong, our Board President, and I were invited to attend a bar-b-que cookout at the GRU Walton Way Campus. The hospitality was great and the food was delicious. Karyn Nixon is Community Affairs Specialist for GRU and coordinated the event. Thank you, Karyn and GRU faculty, staff, and students!
Also, September 6th a group of wonderful young people from Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church volunteered at our thrift store. The group is called the Reid Memorial Rock Stars. They did an excellent job making our toy room neat and tidy and that was quite an undertaking! Joy Weigle is their leader. Thank you, young people, Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church, and Joy!
The Child Development Associate class from AGC Training Center not only worked at our thrift store three Saturdays they donated lots of household products for our shelter. Darlene Adams is president of the class and she is their spokesperson. Thank you, ladies, for giving your time and resources to help us help others!
Lynn Winters, personally, donated a van load of household products for our shelter and she brings us donations on a regular basis. Thank you, Lynn, for your kindness and generosity!
Dawn Marie Beals and her family are avid shoppers at our thrift store. She has offered her expertise and computer skills to advertise merchandise for us on Craig’s List, e-bay, and Facebook to help increase our sales. Please visit these websites and check out the bargains - https://augusta.craigslist.org/, www.ebay.com/, and https://www.facebook.com/. Her husband, four children, and dad also volunteer at our store. Thank you, Beals family!
November 28th, “Black Friday”, is the 6th anniversary of the opening of Making Ends Meet Bargain Center. “How time flies.” We are celebrating this occasion with our Annual Yard Sale and invite you to join the fun and get some great bargains. A bar-b-que sandwich with coleslaw, chips, and a drink will be available. Tickets are $4.50 prior to the event and $5.00 at the door. Shane’s Rib Shack is donating the bar-b-que and coleslaw. Thank you, Shane’s Rib Shack!
By the grace of God and with many helping hands, we have always been able to meet our operating expenses for Making Ends Meet Bargain Center and to make enough profit to “keep the lights on and the doors open” at Julie’s House. To God be the glory!
